The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has revealed on Monday that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) initiated by the commission has reached an alarming figures of not less than
8.56million fresh registered voters.
INEC said that the information as contained in it’s the CVR Update for week two of quarter four shows that the figures for the fresh registered voters is 8,564,512, as at the morning of Monday, April 25.
The electoral umpire said that 5,111,899 registrants had completed their registrations; 2,228,913 online and 2,882,986 through physical registration.
INEC who also revealed the data of the registered voters shows that2,537,932 of the registrants are male and 2,573,967 female.
It also shows that, 3,534,837 of the figure are youths, while 43,153 are Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Furthermore, INEC has confirmed 15,071,668 applications for voter transfer, replacement of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and other update of voter information record.
It says that details of the applications shows that 7,957,756 were received from male and 7,113,912 from female; 4,120,254 of the applications were from students and 142,807 from PWDs from across the country.
