FRSC cautions motorcyclists against indecent road culture

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kuje Command has cautioned motorcyclists in the area against indecent road culture to avoid accidents.

The Unit Commander, Mr Eugene Nwabuike gave the caution in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kuje on Thursday.

Nwabuike said it was important for all road users to obey traffic rules in the interest of people’s safety.

”We need to do our parts to reduce the spate of accidents involving motorbikes and tricycles in the area.

”We won’t fold our arms and watch them disobey traffic rules. Anyone found culpable will be made to face the law,” he said.

The FRSC official expressed concern that some motorcyclists operated without regards to their lives and that of other road users.

Nwabuike said that FRSC would continue to embark on public sensitisation and enlightenment campaigns to educate road users on the need for road safety.

He stressed the need for motorcyclists to obtain number plates and riders’ license before being allowed to operate.

”They must be certified to operate. It is our duty to ascertain their authenticity. Number plates and riders’ licenses are age-long requirements,” he said.

The unit commander said that over-speeding and reckless riding were responsible for most of the accidents involving motorcyclists.

”The rainy season is here, wear your helmets and be very vigilant. Life is very precious and should be protected,” he said.
