BREAKING:Setback For Lawan, Bello As APC Northern Govs Endorse Power Shift To South

The presidential ambition of Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and that of Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello suffered a huge setback following the decision of governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Northern Nigeria to support power shift to the South.

Both men are the leading Northern presidential contenders in the race for the party’s sole ticket.

Jigawa State governor,  Mohammad Badaru completes the the list of Northern APC aspirants.

The governors after a meeting on Saturday released a statement asking all northern presidential hopefuls to withdraw from the race in national interest.

This comes as President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with APC aspirants ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for Monday, June 6.
