2023: PDP Presidential Hopeful, Anyim Outlines Economic Agenda

2023 Presidential aspirant, Anyim Pius Anyim says his Economic blueprint will be anchored on Industraliazation, Talent and Innovation; and Science and Technology.

Anyim made this known during his official declaration for the presidency at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said, “In view of this, our economic agenda will be anchored on three following principles; Industraliazation, Talent and Innovation; and Science and Technology.

“We shall promote industrialisation at large, medium and small scales. This will drastically reduce importation and improve local production and strengthen the Naira.

“We shall promote Micro, Small and Medium enterprises. Our policy on this shall segment the enterprises according to their sectors. Technical, Highbred, recreation and so on. Then we will support them with training, marketing, technology and startup funds. The whole idea is that we must tackle the problem of unemployment from the source.

“Talent and innovation shall be a flagship of the knowledge-based component of our economic agenda. Our target is to unleash the creativity of our young people and in doing this, we shall establish and create at various points in the country innovation hubs and back them up with startup funds. The ultimate goal is to guarantee gainful employment, encourage productivity, attract foreign investment and strengthen the Naira.

“Through Science and Technology, we shall reposition our mode and factors of production to fit into the fourth industrial revolution. This shall affect other sectors such as security, education, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and so on.”

The former senate president assured the leadership of the party that he will abide by any decision made on zoning.

PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu in his remarks urged all 17 aspirants of the party to work in unity and ensure victory in 2023.
