APC has swept the local council elections in Katsina

Date:

The All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election for local councils in Katsina State on Monday, and they were named the winners.

People in the state’s Independent Electoral Commission (KASIEC) announced the results early on Tuesday. Lawal Faskari, the Executive Secretary of KASIEC, said APC had won 31 of the state’s local government areas so far, with the results of Daura and Funtua LGAs still to come.

He went on to say that the poll in Dutsin-ma LGA had been called off due to alleged irregularities.

There have been complete results from 31 local government areas (328 Wards) so far, says Faskari. Funtua and Daura haven’t been finished yet because of “significant irregularities,” he says.

He said that the All Progressives Congress has made a lot of progress by taking all 31 chairmanships and 328 councilorship seats so far.

People who won elections were congratulated by Faskari. After the election, he also thanked the political parties for the maturity and sportsmanship of their candidates during and after.

The news came only 72 hours after the PDP won all 21 chairmanship seats in Adamawa State’s local council elections.
