The management of Kaduna State University (KASU) has ordered the resumption of full academic activities for the 2020/2021 academic year on May 9.
The university in a circular dated April 26 and signed by its academic secretary, Abdullahi Zubairu, directed all students and lecturers of the institution to resume academic activities on the said date.
NNH reports that the University had complied with the strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on February 14. On March 14, the union announced that it would continue its roll-over strike for another eight weeks to enable the Federal Government to meet its demands in concrete terms.
The striking lecturers’ demands include funding for the Revitalisation of Public Universities, Earned Academic Allowances, University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) and promotion arrears.
