The University of Lagos, UNILAG has appealed to talented singer Rema, not to listen to offers from Bowen University.
Rema who recently got admitted into UNILAG had lamented his inability to begin classes due to the ongoing strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
“ASUU, since dem give me admission I neva start school o, e don do nau!” he wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.
Replying to Rema’s tweet, Bowen wrote: “ASUU can’t delay you if you’re enrolled in Bowen University.”
This prompted the musician to inform UNILAG that another institution is willing to offer him admission if the strike persists.
“Unilag private university don dey Toast me o, I’m blushing omg stop it,” his reply reads.
UNILAG in its reply appealed to the artist not to allow anyone change his mind.
“Rema dear, UNILAG has chosen you o, Hmm…so don’t let anybody come dey change your mind o… Rema no dey vex for us o,” the federal university tweeted.
After seeing UNILAG’s reply, the singer tweeted: “Awww Unilag end the strike or I will go ooo, we want to go back to school pls the youths are not happy!”
“Baby calm down” was the reply that followed from UNILAG.
