Bandits kidnap soldier’s wife, six others in Kaduna

Date:

Bandits have reportedly kidnapped seven persons, including a military officer’s wife from Keke ‘A’ and Keke ‘B’ areas of New Millennium city in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident, it was gathered happened around 11 pm on Tuesday.

According to sources, the heavily-armed terrorists operated for about an hour unchallenged, shooting sporadically to scare people who might think of coming to the victims’ aid.

A source within the community claimed that a house at Keke ‘A’ area, belonging to a military officer was the target of the hoodlums.

He said three persons were abducted at the Keke ‘A’ area.

“The officer was not at home, so the kidnappers broke into the house and picked his wife,” DailyPost quoted the source as saying.

The source said the bandits also abducted another man, who is the immediate neighbour of the military officer, alongside with his eight-year-old daughter.

He, however, said the daughter was eventually freed after her mother screamed on top of her voice.

Efforts by newsmen to get police comment on the incident were unsuccessful, at press time as the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, did not respond to calls made to his phone for a long time.
