The Speaker of Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titus Uba, has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Benue State governorship election.
Uba emerged after defeating other aspirants at the primary election which was held in Makurdi, the State Capital, on Wednesday, 25th May, 2022.
He polled a total of 731 votes to defeat the incumbent deputy Governor, Egnr. Benson Abounu, who got 81 votes.
Addressing party faithful shortly after his emergence, Uba dedicated his victory to the party delegates and God Almighty.
He said, “One of the greatest days of my life is today. And I want to give this to the delegates of our great party who have made this moment what it is now. Those who have come together to give me an opportunity to fly the flag of our great party the PDP come 2023”.
He thanked the aspirants that stepped down to give way for his emergence as the governorship flag bearer.
He urged those who contested the primaries with him and lost to join hands with him to ensure the victory of the party at the general election in 2023.
