BREAKING: Only 1,390,519 Nigerians Are Eligible To Vote In 2023, Says INEC


Only 1,390,519 Nigerians are eligible to vote in the 2023 general elections.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said this at a media conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to him, 45 per cent of total registered voters in the country are invalid.

He said only 1,390,519 Nigerians have valid permanent voters cards (PVCs) across the country.

He added that only 10 of the 18 registered political parties have notified the commission of their primaries.

The 2023 Nigerian elections will be held on 25 February and 11 March 2023.

Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on 25 February while Governorship and Houses of Assembly Elections take place on March 11.
