BREAKING: Two injured as bandits ambush President Buhari’s convoy in Katsina


Reports reaching us says insurgents on Tuesday ambushed the advance convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State.

According to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday night, the bandits opened fire on the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers ahead of the President’s trip to Daura for Sallah, near Dutsinma area of the state.

He said the attack was repelled by a joint security team of the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.

He, however, revealed that two persons sustained “minor injuries” from the attack, adding that they have been taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Shehu said “all the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it safely to Daura.”
