A newly elected councillor in the town of Gozaki in Katsina State, Alhaji Nasiru Magaji, was shot and killed by gunmen who were thought to be bandits, but they didn’t know who they were.

In the recently held local government elections in the state, Alhaji Magaji, also known as Nasiru B.S, was elected as a councillor.

He was shot in his home and brought to Malumfashi hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In Abdullahi Gozaki’s opinion, the gunmen came at about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday and took the two wives of the dead councilor, but then let them go.

The bandits attack was only one of numerous in recent months in Katsina State.

A boy between the ages of 10 and 12, simply known as Usman, was slain in one of the attacks.

Last year, there were a lot of kidnappings in the area, including the kidnapping of an immigration officer’s soon-to-be-wed fiancée.

The group visited Malumfashi’s Dan Rimi neighborhood, the local government’s office, and the two wives of a filling station manager were taken by the group.

Funtua had likewise been invaded by the bandits. It was around 11:15pm when the hundreds of armed men, some with guns, came to Dutsen Reme and killed one member of the Bakori local government council who had been protecting the town.
