Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Paris Saint-Germain’s Sergio Ramos have reacted as Real Madrid captain, Marcelo, announced his departure in a press conference on Monday.
Marcelo leaves Santiago Bernabeu after 15 years and 25 trophies.
Reacting, Ronaldo, in a tweet via his Instagram account, hailed the Brazilian international, describing him as a brother that football gave him.
He wrote: “More than a teammate, a brother that football gave me. On and off the fields, one of the biggest stars with whom I had the pleasure of sharing a locker room. Go with everything on this new adventure, Marcelo!”
On his part, Ramos wrote: “Brother, you say goodbye today, but your legacy is eternal. Congratulations on achieving the impossible.”
Marcelo, Ronaldo and Ronaldo were former teammates at Real Madrid and won several trophies, including the Champions League.
