The 2021/22 Ligue 1 award ceremony was conducted on Sunday in Paris.
The awards are given annually by the National Union of Professional Football Players (UNFP) to players in France’s top two divisions.
Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, won the French league’s best player award for the third time in his career on Sunday.
Mbappe is the league’s top scorer with 25 goals for PSG and has netted 36 in all competitions.
Speaking after receiving the award, Mbappe, who joined PSG from Monaco a few years ago, said, “It’s always an honour to be here. Winning for the third time in a row is incredible.”
Mbappe added that, “I’ve felt the recognition this season more than ever.”
Meanwhile, the best goalkeeper award went to Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Bruno Genesio of Rennes was named the best coach of the 2021/22 Ligue 1 season.
21-year-old Marseille defender, William Saliba, who is on loan from Premier League club Arsenal, won the best young player award.
