Emerging report indicates that no fewer than five persons were killed and properties worth millions of naira destroyed in a clash between commercial motorcyclist better known as Okada riders and traders  in Dei Dei, a community in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Our correspondent gathered that trouble started when traders in the area burnt the motorcycle of an Okada rider whom they blamed for recklessness that led to the death of his female passenger.

The passenger was reportedly crushed to death by a trailer while the rider survived the accident.

Things soon got out of hand when other Okada riders stepped in to defend their colleague, a situation that led to the near breakdown of law and order.

The irate Okada riders set the popular Dei Dei Timber market on fire and also destroyed goods worth millions of naira.
