Married woman brutally attacked by her suspected ritualist lover in Ondo

A married woman identified as Funmilola Osundare is currently being treated at the Federal Medical center in Ondo state after she was brutally attacked by her boyfriend, who is suspected to be a ritualist.

According to a reports from Vanguard, that the said victim, Funmilola was said to have been invited to the rented apartment of her boyfriend in ljapo, GRA, Akure three days before the attack.

According to reports, Funmilola was having a nice time with him when he allegedly attacked her, leaving her in a helpless condition with varying degrees of matchet cuts on her face, shoulders and hands.

Her cries for help attracted the neighbours who invited operatives of state local security forces, Amotekun .The suspect who is currently on the run fled while the neighbours rushed the victim to the Police Clinic for treatment where she was rejected and referred to the University of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital, Akure.

The Executive Secretary of the State Agency Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence(OSAA-GBV), Bola Joel Ogundadegbe who also confirmed the incident explained that the report about the incident came to her through the Police.

She said that on receiving the report, the agency quickly notified the First Lady of the state Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who swiftly ordered that the victim be taken to a hospital which she also settled the emergency bills.

According to her, the victim who was on oxygen in the hospital’s trauma centre is back to life, but yet to regain full consciousness and strength to enable her to communicate well.

She noted that no one is yet to identify the boyfriend of the victim, but that his neighbours said he is a footballer.

Ogundadegbe however stressed the need for Funmilola to be referred to a neurosurgeon for thorough check up due to the severe injuries on her head.
