The People’s Democratic Party, Nigeria’s largest opposition party, has once again extended the sale of nomination forms to members aspiring to various positions ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The party stated on Thursday morning that candidates can immediately acquire Expressions of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2023 general elections until Friday, April 22, 2022.

Yans.ng earlier reported that the PDP had closed the sales of the forms on Wednesday, April 22, 2022.

The opposition party, on the other hand, has had to change its timeline and schedule of activities for the general elections in 2023 as a result of the current event.

In a statement issued today by the PDP’s National Publicity, Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the party said it had decided to extend the exercise following a comprehensive review.

The deadline for submitting already completed forms has also been extended to Monday, April 25, 2022, due to the revised timetable, according to Ologunagba.

As a result, the screening of candidates for the State House of Assembly, National Assembly, and Governorship will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, and Thursday, April 28, 2022, respectively.

He also said that presidential hopefuls will be screened on Friday, April 29, 2022, and that all screening appeals will be heard on Monday, May 2, 2022.

According to the announcement, the 3-man Ad Hoc Ward Congress has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2022, while the Local Government Area National Delegates Congresses have been rescheduled for Thursday, May 5, 2022.

It however noted that the primary election dates for certain seats remain unchanged.

The statement finally stressed that duly all completed State Assembly Forms must be presented to the Party’s numerous State Secretariats.
