Suspected ritualists caught with fresh human heads and hands

Police men of the kwara state police Command have arrested two men suspected to be ritualists with fresh heads and hands on Sunday.

The Police Public Relations Officer the state, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, in a statement revealed that the men were caught by some police officers on stop and search duty at Oke Oyi/Jebba road on Sunday, 24 April 2022 at about 11:30 am while on a motorcycle

Wasiu Omonose, 35, and Akanbi Ibrahim, 32, were on a motorcycle attempting to elude arrest when police launched a high-speed pursuit and arrested them.

The individuals confessed to taking the body parts to an Alfa in Ilorin for ritual purposes when the police discovered fresh human heads and hands on them.

In a statement, CP Tuesday Assayono, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, stated that the culprits would be prosecuted as soon as the investigation into the matter was completed.

“In furtherance of Kwara State Police Command’s unrelenting effort to rid Kwara State of crimes and all forms of criminality, eagle-eyed policemen attached to Operation Harmony, while on patrol of Oke Oyi/Jebba road today 24/4/2022 at about 1130hrs, intercepted two men on a motorcycle,” the statement reads.

They attempted to elude the cops on stop and search duty, which piqued the operatives’ interest, prompting them to give the suspects a hard pursuit and bring them to a halt. During the search, a bag containing a fresh human head and hands was discovered in their possession.

“When questioned, the alleged ritualists, Wasiu Omonose ‘M’, 35, of Abioye compound, Share, and one Akanbi Ibrahim ‘M’, 32, of Sayo street, Share, revealed that they were transporting the fresh human head and hands to an Alfa in Ilorin for ritual purposes.”

The apprehended suspects are presently in the custody of the Kwara state police command for further investigations.
