The Police on Monday repelled terrorists’ attack in Kahiya and Bugaje Villages, Jibia  Local Government Area of Katsina State killing two of them and recovering one 4K 47 rifle in the process.

SP Gambo Isah, State Public Relations Officer in a statement said officers swung into action after receiving a distress call that terrorists in their numbers, on motorbikes, armed with AK 47 rifles, were sighted at Kahiyal, Bugaje village, Jibia LGA, to commit their heinous activities.

Consequently, a combined team of Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit and vigilante swiftly arrived at the scene and engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel.

The statement said some of the terrorists escaped the scene with gunshots wounds as search parties are still combing the area with a view to arresting the fleeing terrorists.

“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda, commended and appreciated the efforts of the police and vigilante in repelling the terrorists. He assures members of the public that the police will continue to deal decisively with recalcitrant terrorists until they are all brought to book. He urged them to continue to cooperate with security agencies by giving out useful information on the criminals,” the statement said.
