FLASH: Northern Govs Counter Adamu, Insist On Power Shift To South

Date:

Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Northern Nigeria have insisted on the emergence of a southern presidential candidate for the party in 2023.

The governors made their position known after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.

11 Northern Governors had during a meeting last week endorsed power shift to the south after the expiration of Buhari’s tenure in 2023.

This is coming after party chairman, Abdullahi Adamu announced Senate President, Ahmad Lawan the party’s consensus candidate ahead of Tuesday’s primary election at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

Adamu had during a National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Monday maintained that he arrived at the choice of Lawan after consultation with President Buhari.
